BORN 2 SHINE SCREAM CUSTOMS

I know its kind of early for the scary movie themes but this pair of custom AF1s are definitely one of the most underrated kicks on the net. The artist is none other than my fellow teammate John Ross. At the time, they were one of the hottest, yet subtle compared to his usual style, custom feets I've seen. He did them while we were still in the early stages of building our custom art business and it really inspired the team to take our talent to the next level. Its this kind of quality that we insure in all of our products.

But we've come a long way since then so the level of expectation is something we look to push higher with every project. Consequently, Born 2 Shine is designing a mind-blowing line of custom sneakers to embrace the Halloween theme this year. The kicks will be available to everyone through the website with a very affordable price tag. This is gonna be the perfect time to order a custom pair of shoes and see for yourself the quality of the work. Personally, this is a project that I am very excited about and the I know you're gonna love it too.

Anyways, the "Scream" customs and plenty more can be seen on the company website so check them out asap. The new Halloween customs are already in the making so look out for the sneak peak soon with the title and promos. Till then, check out the site. PeaCE

Michael Jackson Custom AF1

Greetings.
Unless you've living under a rock for the past week, then you've been utterly bombarded with images of Michael Jackson in almost every facet of entertainment from television to radio and everywhere in between. Since the acclaimed "King of Pop" died last Thursday, there have been valiant efforts put forth to celebrate the life and legacy of this beloved icon. If you watched the BET Award show this week, you are well aware of Michael's impact and influence in the music industry today. Although I was perhaps too young to fully experience the musical ingenious of Michael Jackson in his younger days, I am yet amazed at how timeless his music has become even prior to his passing.

Before his death, Michael was troubled by many issues in his personal life, often making mainstream news whenever there were legal or family-related hardships. Accused of sexual abuse in 1993, Mike became a target for the media and endured scrutiny from almost every direction. Whether those allegations were true or not I believe, in death, all is forgiven. Few people actually know the truth but one thing I can be sure of is this, you can never even begin to imagine the struggles and hardships of another individual. We all are misunderstood at times and do not always have the means to bring enlightenment to others. Michael was a musical deity and a legendary performer and mass media in contemporary society loves to tear down those who we view as great. Immeasurable success brought him to the forefront of headlines worldwide and he will always be known as a philanthropist and humanitarian who believed in peace between individuals of separate cultures.

With that squared away, I was browsing through different blogs looking at all of the Michael Jackson custom sneakers and I was surprised at how few of them were actually good. So in commemoration of the icon, my team and I decided to customize a pair of Air Force 1 low tops to celebrate his legacy. As of now, me and J-Row have been working at them for a few hours and they look to be very promising. The layout of the shoe will be in a collage format, similar to the famous Joker Customs Row released earlier this year. We'll be finished in no time so look out for the pics and articles on pimpmykicks.com and other sneakerhead blogs.

In the meantime, check out the Joker customs at PIMPMYKICKS.COM under the links column. They have their own youtube video as well. You can check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3eEHyYXDL4. If you want your very own pair of custom shoes, you can inquire about them through the site or contact me directly. You can even use the application on the site to help you design a color sceme to your custom pair. Anyways, thats all for now come back soon and check out one of the hottest MJ customs on the net. PeaceOut

AN URBAN OPPOSITION

Hey everyone
During the last few weeks of school, a friend of mine asked me if I wanted to display some of my work in an exhibition held in the student union at my school. A few kids were putting together a show and wanted to display a variety of student art work. Of course I was excited to get some of my more experimental work out there for some feedback and see what the other artists had to offer.

The title of the show was "AN URBAN OPPOSITION". Looking back it was a pretty fun experience and a nice way to get my mind off finals week for little bit. The exhibition displayed photography, collages, sculpture, and an oil painting we all worked on the weeks before the show. The picture shown here is one that my little sister took while we were setting up.

I Often use cardboard as a cheap and resourceful way to vent artistically. Cheap outlets are solid gold to me and I've always found it interesting to ponder exactly how physical and sentimental value are derived in art. Sometimes I use the cardboard like pages in my sketchbook, sporadically painting whatever comes to mind and I find it interesting how such visually appealing images materialized from this method.

These kind of works are perhaps the most valuable pieces to me on a personal level. I choose select images and landscapes then bring them together as a means of expressing a specific feeling or emotion I am experiencing at the time. When I can capture my entire state of mind in one moment and communicate it through words, I write songs or poetry, however, this doesn't happen too often. As good as I am at articulating verbally, I am much more familiar with the language of images. Each image I use has specific personal implication and contributes greatly to the overall meaning of the work. Not until I am finished do I attempt to put these feelings into words by giving it a title.

When I take some better pictures I'll elaborate in detail on the specific implications of this particular set of pieces. Since the show I've actually grown fond of the work and the feedback I've been getting has been excellent. With that said, I'm always open to to any feedback, positive and negative. Stay tuned and look out for the new links as I continue to work. I have alot of new things going with Born 2 Shine and the Kustom Geeks so expect some new pages and more music as well. Again, live free and stay tuned. Peace out.

I HAVE ARRIVED.

The Apotheosis of Swiddle aims to record the specific personal and psychological progression of a young expressionistic artist in an ever-changing society. An entirely subjective account, my entries will reflect personal beliefs and ideologies I wish to convey through a variety of mediums, as well as through intelligent dialogue. Follow along as I display and evaluate my art while existing and functioning as a single perspective in a vast universe.
